ELITE ACADEMY

ABA is fortunate to have both Li Feng and Rhona Bramwell involved heavily in our representative programs.  Both women have given so much of their lives to Auckland Badminton.  For the 2025 season, which starts October 2024, ABA is launching the Elite Academy that Coaches Li Feng and Rhona Bramwell will directly oversee.

Why – The Elite Academy will work with a small group of talented and dedicated players who are between 13 and 18 years old, who are in representative program that are willing to commit to accelerate their development.

Where – Pakuranga College

When – Thursdays 5-7pm during Term, starting Term 1 2025

Cost - $100 per term (or part of) if selected

This academy has limited numbers (approximately 10 players)

Any players in our 2025 Emerging and Performance Squads can apply to be part of this program.

Having two of the best coaches in NZ, who have both played and coached at the highest levels, who both are passionate about the future generations of ABA players, is an opportunity that will be in high demand.

Players who are selected must not take this opportunity for granted as if they do not meet the training requirements there will be a warning and then removal from this squad.  It is a privilege to have this opportunity and if any player isn't committed to the program, we want to give another player the opportunity.

The Elite Squad will be selected by Coaches Li Feng and Rhona Bramwell along with other ABA Squad Coaches.

Criteria:

* Commitment to training

* Willingness to learn

* Desire to be a champion

* Willingness to attend at least 1 footwork session every week and do your own fitness training.

* Agreement to maintain a journal.

* Must be in ABA Representative Program 2025 before applying

Players and Squad Coaches will nominate players who will be invited to trial for this squad.

Even if selected, players must continue to earn their place in the team with regular reviews of the players commitment, attitude and development, with players failing to achieve required standards being asked to leave the program.
