Auckland Badminton Association (ABA) is excited to announce the Auckland Premier League (APL), a new tournament series dedicated to supporting the development of New Zealand’s badminton talent through an enticing $7,200 prize pool. This competitive series, spanning three six-week tournaments, aims to bring top-level badminton competition to Auckland with substantial cash incentives for players.

Each APL tournament will feature singles, doubles, and mixed doubles competitions, with $500 awarded to first-place finishers, $100 for second place, and $50 for third. The stakes climb even higher with the $1,000 Triple Crown Bonus, an award for those who excel across all categories—encouraging Auckland’s top players to compete across multiple disciplines to maximise their prize potential.

Structured in an intense knockout format, the APL will test every player’s skill, resilience, and determination. With prize money for each division, the league offers NZ’s top athletes a chance to fund their Badminton ambitions. Through the APL, ABA hopes to create a domestic platform that not only rewards skill and hard work but also alleviates the financial barriers faced by aspiring players, providing a vital opportunity for them to pursue their badminton dreams.
