GIRLS WELCOME PROGRAM 2025

ABA wants to be part of the solution when it comes to getting more girls playing sports to improve their health and wellbeing outcomes.  For the 2024/2025-year, ABA is piloting our Girls Welcome Program.  Players do not need to apply for this program, if they meet qualification, ABA will contact the players directly.

  • Any girls between 10 and 18 years old in 2025 and who have not been part of any ABA rep squad for the 2024 season can try out for our Girls Welcome Program.

    • Any signups for Term 3 2024 only during our trial period, can still participate in this opportunity.

  • ABA will trial players during the Te Kaha sessions, if successful being selected the player will join an ABA squad for the remainder of the 2024/2025 ABA year. 

    • All girls who were not part of ABA squads in 2024 that are the 2024/2025 year are eligible.

    • Note, if selected for Palmerston North the player will have pay for NZJTC separately.

How This Works – Girls Welcome:

  1. Register with ABA for 2025 and pay for Te Kaha Squad with the early payment discount


  1. Trial during your first month and if selected for Te Kaha Junior, Te Kaha Youth or Aspiring Squads you will receive $566 value:
  • Receive a full set of mandatory uniform for free (retail value $566)
  • ABA Jacket                        $98

  • ABA Short/Skort              $55

  1. Trial during your first month and if selected for the Development, Emerging, Performance, or Wisden Squads you will receive $2,266 value:
  • Receive a full set of mandatory uniform for free (retail value $566)
  • ABA Jacket                        $98

  • ABA Hoodie                      $95
  • ABA Playing Shirts x 3   $195
  • ABA Short/Skort              $55

  • PLUS, Proshop Credit* valued at $500

*Proshop Credit:  If you would prefer to be paid directly into your bank account, you can choose that option.  The cash value that will be deposited will be 60% of the ProShop Credit Value e.g. a $500 Proshop credit converted will be $300 deposited into your bank account.
